Perfect Ways to Celebrate 4th of July at Home
Are you Looking for Perfect Ways to Celebrate the 4th of July at Home this year? I am too! 4th of July is one of my family’s favorite holidays, and we always enjoy spending Independence Day together! In the past we have spent time going to public Firework displays, spending time at block parties, or with a huge group of our family setting off our own fireworks. This year, we will be celebrating on our own, in a much smaller group, and plan most of the day to be outside. I have collected ideas on how to have the Perfect 4th of July at Home and made it simple by adding Amazon Links, most are available on Amazon Prime.
3 Ways to have a perfect 4th of July:

4th of July Decorations
American Flag Lights!
I LOVE having some sparkle in my 4th of July! This Red, White, and Blue flag is approx. 6 feet by 3 feet. It will make a great party backdrop and can be used for Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day! And if you like a little patriotic flare, all summer! This particular flag comes well rated and uses LED lights and is waterproof, so it can be outside for a long duration, or potentially withstand a few summer splashes!
Patriotic Bunting
I love a good patriotic bunting! I think it is from watching Pollyanna as a child and seeing all of the beautiful Independence Day bunting! But I have always loved decorations that can be used year after year, and make a big impression and are super Patriotic. Typically Bunting is hung from porches, but it can also be hung over bricks, under windows, and as table decorations.
Paper Lanterns
I love paper lanterns because they are easy to hang, create a beautiful effect and color during the day, and cast a warm glow as the evening hours arrive. This 12 pc set is filled with Red, White, and Blue, as well as silver for a little flare! They are reusable, and of course, can be broken up to use for different holidays. The red, white, and silver would be perfect to put out at a Christmas celebration, or Valentines! In this set the LED lights are not included, so remember to add on a set of Christmas Lights, or electric tea lights to add in.
Games
Giant Connect 4 Yard Game Set
I love keeping everyone entertained, and this Huge Connect 4 Game will be a great addition to any party all summer! It is such a simple and classic game, and constructed with bright colors! Kids from a young age and adults will love playing this game. And, if your family is like ours, they will end up creating new games to play with the set as well!
Giant Toppling Tower Lawn Game
Another great find on Amazon Prime is this Giant wooden Jenga style game! If you love the miniature game, you will love this 5ft version! It will give hours of fun playing Jenga, but also, as my granddaughter pointed out, can be used to build forts, and castle towers on a grand scale!
Corn Hole
Corn Hole is a perennial favorite! Easy to play for all ages, and it allows for a great amount of conversation during long evenings outside. I like this set because it is light and portable, and of course, red and blue! If you have never played Corn Hole give it a try. It’s a strategy game of throwing bean bags toward the board, and of course, the “corn hole”.
Lawn Sprinklers
Okay, a Mega Oscillating Sprinkler might not seem like fun, but it has a dual purpose. First, kids and adults LOVE running through the sprinklers on a hot summer day! Right? For most of my life we have not had a pool, so we loved the sprinklers. Running through them, jumping over them, playing tag, trying to avoid the oscillating cascade. So much fun! And of course, my kids grew up loving it too! The other good part of having a great sprinkler is that you can wet down your house, hard, roof, and trees if your neighborhood allows fireworks. Ours does not, but when it did, we would always wet everything down before evening, just in case a spark or two got away.
Food
4th of July Party in the USA Cake Topper
If you want to dress up your centerpiece cake, this festive cake topper will easily do the trick! I always think that a touch like this, with a few of the items you already have in your home bring a festive air to the celebration! Add a few colorful flowers and borders and you have a delightful centerpiece!
Summer Cookbook
This Taste of Home American Summer Cookbook is loaded with treats and delights that will bring summer to your patio table! It’s always fun to add a few new recipes and these are specially geared towards summer cooking and hospitality, perfect for 4th of July!
And a Bonus!
1776
4th of July would not be the same in our family without watching the musical movie 1776! We love it, and over the years have memorized most of the songs. If you have never watched it, you are truly missing out on a classic. The movie share the time period around writing and signing the Declaration of Independence and the men who took the bold step to bring us to freedom from England. Well worth the time, and very educational.
Whether you are planning a quiet Fourth of July like we are, or even a bigger party, make sure to take the time to do something special for yourself, and your family. Take time to celebrate what a wonderful day it is, and celebrate the freedom that we hold. 4th of July is such a special time to bring out the Red, White, and Blue, and spend time outside enjoying family, friends, food, and festivities! I hope that you have a wonderful time!
