4th of July Snack Munch
As you may have noticed, I love all things 4th of July. You can read about my favorite 4th of July Memories Here . For me it is not just about the Red, White, and Blue of it all. And, it is not just about the holiday, fireworks, family, and fun. I really love to remember that there are a group of men and women who over time have made the ultimate sacrifice, so that we can be free! Definitely worth a celebration! I of course also love snacks and finding snacks that my family will love. In our family we often enjoy what we call Munch. You may have heard of Chex Mix, or Puppy Chow.
We celebrate Independence Day or the 4th of July about an hour away in my Brother’s town. We do this for 3 reasons. One, we celebrate every other holiday at my house, so it makes sense to have one out at his. Second, out county does not allow any fireworks, and his county does all fireworks. And finally, he is the Pastor to a church, and their parking lot is the perfect space to set off fireworks! So, every year we travel to his town, and so making foods that will travel well is always on my list of factors.
4th of July Red, White, and Blue Munch
4th of July Red, White, and Blue munch is perfect for this! Since it is made with only a few ingredients, stores well, and does not melt, it travels very well! Plus, it is the perfect snack to munch on (do you see why we call it munch) while we are waiting for dusk to come so that we can set off fireworks. I have shared quite a few of the other Munch’s that our family enjoys, and you can check them out below.
Valentine’s Strawberry White Chocolate Munch
I have included the recipe for 4th of July Red, White, and Blue munch in it’s simplest form. And, you can jazz it up anyway you want. I used Red, White, and Blue regular M and M’s, but you could also use the peanut version. This year I have a two-year-old and five-year-old coming to our 4th of July festivities so I decided to go a little more on the mild side. If you want to go a little wilder and really make it pop, you can include a sprinkling of Red and Blue pop rocks, or some Red Tamale Candies. It will keep the festive theme, but definitely ad an explosion of flavor! 😊
