I really, really love to shop! But, work harder than I did in the past, to ensure that the products I am purchasing have value. I want to be an intentional shopper. With that in mind, I try to find items that fit my needs but also fill the needs of others. I try to give preference to items that are good for the environment. When I first ran across Causebox on Social Media, I instantly loved that it is a curated box of items sent on a quarterly basis. However, it is so much more than that. It is like FabFitFun and BarkBox in that the value is more than just the items you receive. The products are focused on items that are, in general, working toward the social good.
Time for a Disclosure
I did not receive this box for free, because I didn’t ask. I noticed the company on social media, and thought, I want that! It felt like I was purchasing a present for myself since I would be unpacking a gift of which I had no knowledge of the contents. I loved it!
“We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.” Throughout this post, I have shared products from the companies in this season’s Causebox that are available through Amazon. Simply click on the Amazon Ads and you will be directed to Amazon.
Previously, I have received the Winter 2018, Spring 2018, Summer 2018 editions of Causebox. I have loved what I received and am using many of the gifts myself while gifting a few to my family. Hence, I could not wait for the Fall Box to arrive. Once again, I truly loved the unique items and the stories behind each product. The shipment comes in a custom decorated box, different for each season. It is made of quality cardboard and can be used again and again.
October Jaipur Handmade Tote
The October Jaipur Handmade Tote was given as a choice item. I received an email about a month before the box was to be shipped and given the choice of a linen, taupe, or grey with polka dot tote. I, of course, chose the grey with polka dots. When I received the Tote, I was impressed with the large size and sturdy construction. I always have a water bottle with me but don’t always like how it looks hanging out of my purse. With the October Jaipur tote, my bottle is completely hidden! Plus, it has a zippered section inside, as well as, space to carry all of the things I typically carry with me. Which is everything! LOL
October Jaipur is made in Jaipur, India and brings artisans together in a “Comfortable” work environment. With an emphasis on quality and eco-conscious products, October Jaipur also used Vegan leather to make this Tote. It is 90% handmade which shows the strong artisan culture of the company.
S’well Water Bottle
One item not mentioned in the “Good Things” booklet was the S’well WATER BOTTLE. The original plan was to receive a cutting board, but due to a supply chain issue, Causebox notified me via email that they would be replacing the cutting board with a S’well Water Bottle. I am always looking for the perfect water bottle, as I love to stay hydrated, and am working to reduce the use of plastic water bottles. The S’well bottle keeps cold drinks cold for 24 hours, and a tree is planted for every bottle sold to help with American Reforestation.
The bottle itself has a unique wood- look and is large enough to hold 25 ounces. It is made of stainless steel and is a nice weight and size to carry with you when running errands or going to work out. Or, in my case, to sit next to my laptop where I spend most of my workday.
Bloom and Give Scarf
Since I knew that I chose the Grey Tote, I was delighted to find that I would be receiving a beautiful Bloom and Give Scarf in Grey and cream stripes. Bloom and Give has a philanthropic heart and give 10% of sales to various charitable projects. The particular project that they donated to, this time, was a camp for girls called Doosra Dashak Camp. It is a camp that provides schooling for girls whose lives have left them uneducated, either because of early arranged marriages or being required to help the family earn income or other various reasons. The girls gain an education in these camps which, will then, put their lives on a more positive path.
The Bloom and Give Scarf is completely handmade. It has a beautiful metallic thread that runs through the scarf giving it a special glint when the sun or light reflects from it. I love the soft scarf and believe it to be the perfect weight for a Fall or Spring Scarf!
RealHer Eyeshadow Palette and Brush
RealHer is a company that creates products that are cruelty-free in testing and Vegan. I love that founder Bill Ziang says he founded the company for women to wear makeup to “embrace their true beauty and to use makeup as a source of empowerment and confidence”. RealHer has made the commitment to donate 20% of their proceeds to the American Association of University Women in addition to other positive charities.
When I opened the Pallete, I noticed that the positive affirmation, “Be Your Own Kind of Beauty” was embossed on the front. As a mother of two daughters, that is a message I can easily support! I also love that the shadow colors were positive words such as Creative, Courageous, and Proud. These are colors I would want my daughters to wear every day to remind them of exactly who I believe them to be! In addition to the Shadow Palette, I received a nice shadow brush. I am always in need of another brush, so this was a great addition.
Paper Source Stationary Set
The Paper Source Stationary Set is made in India, with handmade paper created by an artisan process and dried in the sun. Cool! Right? The silkscreen process includes using eco-friendly materials. I was excited to learn that the paper is made completely tree-free. The note cards have a high-quality feel, and I am excited to be able to use them to send notes to those I care so much about. In the Good Things booklet that comes with each Causebox a section on “How to Write the Perfect Thank You Note” is included. Love it!
Natura Reconstructive Hair Mask
Another choice item was the Natura Reconstructive Hair Mask. Natura was founded in 1969 and is a certified B Corporation and is a carbon neutral company. This is just the type of company I am interested in purchasing from. In addition to making amazing products, Natura has helped to preserve 635,000 acres of rainforest in the Amazon. I am, personally, always in need of a good hair mask, so I was excited to receive this product.
Abbey Lossing Artisan-Inspired Art Print
Each Causebox edition includes an art print from various artists. This edition was created by artist Abbey Lossing. It is perfect for framing or using to dress up your office space.
