I am not sure about how it is in your home, but in ours weekends are big snack occasions. Sitting around the table chatting after a meal, binge watching a favorite show, or sitting out by the pool having a lazy afternoon. There are so many great snack opportunities I thought I would share one of our family’s favorite snacks, Extreme Chocolate Peanut Butter Munch! Really it is Muddy Buddies 2.0!!! We have always loved Muddy Buddies and Chex Mix. We have tried almost every version of it, and you can check out a few that I have posted below.

I Have Always Loved Chocolate Peanut Butter

Chocolate and Peanut Butter

Chocolate and Peanut Butter

Chocolate Peanut Butter has been one of my favorite flavor combinations going back as far as I can remember. As a child, I loved the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials where some catastrophe would happen, and person A would accuse Person B of putting their chocolate in their peanut butter, and then person B would accuse person A of putting their peanut butter in their chocolate. All was always resolved when they tasted it and realized it is an ingenious combination. It was a great marketing plan to get everyone to try it, and I of course found that I loved it!

You can watch the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercial from the 1970’s video here on Youtube.

And I Love It In Ice Cream Too!

Growing up I remember going to Baskin and Robin’s and always ordering a scoop of their Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream. It is a wonderful chocolate ice cream with a candied peanut butter ribbon running through it. Yep, wonderful! My Dad was always a lover of Peanut butter and would have grilled peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I remember watching as he enjoyed them thinking that it would be so much better if he replaced the pickles with chocolate! And of course, I still believe that to this day!

Creamy Chocolate and Peanut Butter

I thought I would take the Original Muddy Buddies recipe from the Chex website and dress it up a bit! First, I always make a double batch, so I have included the recipe as such. We have a large family, and I find that it stores well too! I thought about adding a little something extra, and so I added cocktail peanuts and mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! Yum! I think it adds a little bit more flare, and so much good chocolate peanut butter flavor!

I hope that you enjoy this dressed up version of Muddy Buddies!!! As I shared my favorite flavor combination is Chocolate and Peanut Butter. So, what is your favorite flavor combination? I would love for you to share it in the comments!

Chocolate and peanut butter is such a great combo! We don’t get to have it much now that I have a kiddo with a peanut allergy, but it’s still a favorite that I indulge in when he’s at grandmas!

This looks yummy, but would be a no-go in our house due to food allergies. However, I could take the base recipe and adjust a few things to make it just as delicious. Thanks for sharing! I bet this is a HUGE hit in your house!!!!
