We have always loved Muddy Buddies and Chex Mix. We have tried almost every version of it, and you can check out a few that I have posted below.

I Have Always Loved Chocolate Peanut Butter
Chocolate Peanut Butter has been one of my favorite flavor combinations going back as far as I can remember. As a child, I loved the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials where some catastrophe would happen, and person A would accuse Person B of putting their chocolate in their peanut butter, and then person B would accuse person A of putting their peanut butter in their chocolate. All was always resolved when they tasted it and realized it is an ingenious combination. It was a great marketing plan to get everyone to try it, and I of course found that I loved it!
You can watch the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercial from the 1970’s video here on Youtube.
And I Love It In Ice Cream Too!
Growing up I remember going to Baskin and Robin’s and always ordering a scoop of their Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream. It is a wonderful chocolate ice cream with a candied peanut butter ribbon running through it. Yep, wonderful! My Dad was always a lover of Peanut butter and would have grilled peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I remember watching as he enjoyed them thinking that it would be so much better if he replaced the pickles with chocolate! And of course, I still believe that to this day!
I thought I would take the Original Muddy Buddies recipe from the Chex website and dress it up a bit! First, I always make a double batch, so I have included the recipe as such. We have a large family, and I find that it stores well too! I thought about adding a little something extra, and so I added cocktail peanuts and mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! Yum! I think it adds a little bit more flare, and so much good chocolate peanut butter flavor!
I hope that you enjoy this dressed up version of Muddy Buddies!!! As I shared my favorite flavor combination is Chocolate and Peanut Butter. So, what is your favorite flavor combination? I would love for you to share it in the comments!
