Are you like me? Do you enjoy online shopping, but find yourself thinking….”Hmmm, I would sure like this for me”? Well, in complete transparency. I do that. I do love to spend time online looking for the perfect gift for others, but often write my own wishlist at the same time. With that in mind, I thought I would write my first gift guide of the season, with my own wish list. I hope you enjoy My Christmas Wishlist- 10 Gifts I Want to Receive!
First on the list is PopCorn! I really love PopCorn!
Popcorn is an amazing treat! It is crunchy, salty, and can be modified into many delicious treats! For instance, sprinkle on butter and Italian seasoning and garlic powder for an Italian treat. Or, sprinkle on a little Nesquik and Mini Marshmallows for a sweet treat!. Or, just good ole popcorn salt. Really, any way you make it, it is a delicious, filling treat. When my kids were young we would eat it for breakfast with dried fruits and cream the way the Pilgrims did hundreds of years ago.
To me, popcorn is the perfect afternoon or evening snack. It is not horribly calorie-laden, includes fiber, and you get your stress crunch out. So, we have popcorn hundreds of times each year. In fact, we start the babies eating it as soon as they can nibble on a soft bite of it! Oh, and our dogs like it too! So, as you can see, we eat a lot of popcorn. So, the first thing on my list is some of my favorite popcorn and popcorn supplies. Oh, and did I mention it is a perfect snack late on Christmas Eve while sitting around the treat dreaming of the Christmas morn to come?

Second on the list, Gift to Heifer
Heifer.org is an amazing program that helps build self-sufficiency into communities around the world. I first learned of their organization a few years ago when I purchased a flock of chickens in a third world country for my daughter. You can read more in my post about it here. Overall, it is an amazing program where you can purchase gift items, or give a cash donation to purchase animals for families in need. It helps the family to overcome poverty. Truly a gift that keeps on giving.
Third on the list, L’Occitane Hand Cream
I have been a huge fan of L’Occitane Hand Cream for years. Really, everything that they create. Last year I learned that they are not only amazing at making products that have a lovely fragrance and improve my skin’s feel and appearance, but they also have a wonderfully philanthropic attitude as a company. The L’Occitane Foundation, through it’s ” Women in Leadership” program in Burkina Faso, has helped 10,000 women learn to read and write. This in and of itself, not to mention their other amazing philanthropic and sustainable practices, is a good reason to purchase L’Occitane products. So, Yes, L’Occitane Hand Cream is on my Wishlist.
Fourth on the List, Bombas Socks- New holiday collection.
I love Bombas Socks! I first learned of Bombas Socks last year and fell instantly in love with this company. I purchased a pair of their socks for everyone that was coming to Christmas and tucked them into their Christmas stockings. Yes, I am the type of person that gives socks and underwear for Christmas! Everyone loved the socks, and family members still call to say, “Do you know what socks I have on today? My Bombas Socks! I can’t believe how comfortable they are!” I realize that they are just socks, but truly, they are amazing socks, wear well, have great arch support and keep their color.
I noticed that they have a new holiday collection out this year that is so festive! But, it is not just how comfortable they are, their amazing selection, or cute holiday collection. It’s that Bombas donates a pair of socks to the homeless for every pair purchased. They don’t just donate any pair, they donate a pair that has been specifically designed to best support the needs of a homeless person. That is a company mission and practice I can get very excited about.
Fifth, A collection of succulents.
I remember back when I was a young child having succulents at our home, and at my grandparents. I remember they were pretty hearty, and that was cool. However, I never really gave it any more thought. Recently I reconnected with an old friend who LOVES succulents. In fact, she collects them. While we were on a trip to the beach she went to a succulent sale and purchased an amazing variety of succulents. Yes, you might say that that piqued my interest in succulents.
Some reasons you might want to choose succulents? Well, if you are like me and don’t have an exactly green thumb, they are easy to keep alive! They are fairly hassle free. I live in California which is often plagued by drought. Having plants that require only a small amount of water to survive is a great choice. Finally, you can keep them indoors, or tuck them into existing outdoor landscapes depending on your location. One more note, they come in an amazing variety of colors, shapes, and designs.
Sixth, A donation to Share our Strength
I have been a long time supporter of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry program, really because no kid should be hungry. But, in the USA 1 in 6 kids faces hunger and food insecurity. For every dollar donated to Share our Strength, they are able to help provide up to 10 meals for kids in need. So, for the price of a Pumpkin Spice Latte, 50 kids can eat. Well worth the donation. They are a well-rated charity, and over the years I have met quite a few of their ambassadors. Their hearts for feeding children is evident in every interaction. You can read more in my post about Share Our Strength here.
Seventh, A Roaster
Just like a lot of working Moms, I balance a lot of moving pieces. Between large family dinners, mid-week meals, breakfasts, and potlucks, I cook a lot of food during the week! Luckily, I love cooking for my family and friends. I truly enjoy it. But, my schedule does not always make it very easy. For years I have used a Crockpot, or one pan dinners to make meals work well.
One thing I miss though is having a large roaster. Years ago I had a roaster, and I loved that I could cook large meals, putting plenty away in the freezer, or cooking enough to have leftovers after potlucks or family meals. Although I love cooking, every hour I am not cooking is another hour I can work on my Family, Church responsibilities, or my Blog. And of course, spend time with my Granddaughter!
Eighth, A pair of Rothy’s
If you have not heard of Rothy’s than I am glad to introduce you. They are an amazing company that is truly making a difference, both in fashion and the environment. Rothy’s uses recycled plastic bottles to create their woven shoes. There are many different styles and colors available which you can check out here. So far, Rothy’s has used over 19,000,000 plastic bottles. The shoes are very stylish, and they are also washable! I, of course, love the pointed toe version in Leopard, Marigold, or in Petal Pink Solid. Check out the website, and let me know which style is your favorite!
Ninth, A new Bible, Bible Journaling and Bible Art kits.
I am a Bible Reader, and have been for years, and love spending time in God’s Word. I find that it has an enormous amount of wisdom for everything from raising kids, to relationships, to business. Actually, if you are into building, there is a lot of building instructions too! I have noticed lately scrolling through Instagram that many people have started Bible Journaling, and drawing beautiful art throughout their Bible. I have always been an underliner, scribbler in the margin, and about once a year I have taken all of the scraps of papers and notes out of my Bible so that it can close properly.
I thought that with as much as I enjoy writing all over my Bible, I might also enjoy Bible Journaling and Art. So, I would love to receive a Journaling or Art Bible, some supplies to go with it, and maybe a prayer journal and Bible Study Guide to go with it. Or these really cool watercolor pens. I didn’t even know this was a thing a few months ago, but now I would like to jump in! I can already imagine myself reading through the Psalms and decorating the pages. Yep, this is definitely on my list!

Tenth, I would really love a new book.
In 2017 I made a goal to read 12 books. I ended up reading 15 and really had an amazing year! I love to read, and there is something to be said for what you learn in a book, whether fiction or non-fiction. And, I think it is a little bit of a lost art. However, I love to spend time, in my comfy chair, with a cup of hot coffee, reading a book. This year, I have not worked as hard at my reading goals, and am really missing reading. So, I would really like to get a few new books, and also read a few that I already have on the shelf.
One of my favorite things to do is spending time with my family doing something to bless other families. Last year we made winter snack and sock packs to hand out to those who are homeless and made holiday bread for our neighbors. It was a great way to spend time together, and bless those around us. You can read more about bags for the homeless here, and our making bread here.
So, that is my wish list for this year. All things I would love, and of course believe others would as well. You can read more about my best Christmas ever, in this post. I am halfway finished with my Christmas shopping for others, and well into planning the Christmas week. How about you? Have you started your shopping? What is on your wishlist this year? Wherever you are at on your shopping, and whatever you want on your wishlist, I truly wish you an amazing Christmas!
