Oreo Truffle Treats

I love participating in Bake Sales as it is a great way for organizations to earn money, and for everyone to pitch in and do their part. It is also a great way for everyone to try delicious treats by buying goodies that others have baked. When making bake sale treats, it is important to find recipes that are cost effective. Meaning, the cost of the ingredients doesn’t outweigh the possible selling price of the item. And of course, I love it when the recipes are easy and fun to make, and that is the case with Oreo Truffle Treats!

We recently held a Bake Sale at our church to help with the cost of my daughter Tori’s Romanian mission’s trip. The plan was that the teens would help restore one of the houses on the property, as well as hold a Vacation Bible School. The cost of the trip was a bit out of our usual budget….so we did everything we could as a family to help her reach her financial goal and make the trip. She did odd jobs, took on extra shifts at work, we held a few yard sales, and scrimped and saved. In addition, our amazing church family gave Tori blessing after blessing. Out of all of the things we did to help Tori go to Romania, the most fun was making goodies for the Bake Sale, and then of course enjoying the items that other church ladies had donated.

So Easy to Make!

Oreo Truffle Treats are so easy to make, and totally delicious! They were a big hit at the bake sale, and I recently made them again, just to bring to church as a treat.  Because they only use 3 ingredients (plus sprinkles), you can keep the ingredients on hand to make them quickly when needed. Oreo Truffle Treats have a rich creamy texture and taste like they take much more work than they do.  The taste is so amazing, that people never believe me when I tell them how easy they are to make! I love that kind of recipe! 😊

You can make them smaller if you want a smaller treat. I typically get about 20 from the recipe, but could easily make 40 of a much smaller truffle. And, you can use any kind of cookie. I have personally used Frosted Animal Cookies (the pink and white ones) and they turned out delicious. I think these cookies would be amazing with Mint Oreos, Nutter Butters, and Chips Ahoy as well! Really, whatever your taste is just add in the cookies of your choice and you have a new type of truffles.

Oh wow, these do look very tasty. I would definitely have to hide them from my kids since they would want to polish them off at once, that’s if I haven’t done it already.
