Our family loves to have a crunchy treat when spending time together watching a movie or playing a game. There is something magical about time spent with family and friends, in a common activity, sharing food. Memories are made that will be remembered for years to come.

Pumpkin Spice Munch

Pumpkin Spice Munch

Pumpkin Spice Munch

Throughout the year I love to make Chex Mix, Muddy Buddies, or Puppy Chow. Depending on where you live, and the ingredients you add, it really could be called anything. During various seasons, I like to add different candy treats specific to the flavors of the season. Since the Fall is filled with Pumpkin Spice everything, I thought it would be the perfect chance to make a Pumpkin Spiced Munch!

This rendition of puppy chow is filled with Candy Corn, Chocolate M & M’s, Rice Chex, and of course, Pumpkin Pie Spice! In the first batch, I thought that 1/2 Teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice would be enough. My sister who loves Pumpkin Spice everything said she would go for 2 Teaspoons. So, depending on your level of PSLove, make your choice. Just make sure it is thoroughly mixed with the powdered sugar prior to adding the Chex cereal.

This treat is easy to make and can be modified depending on the treats that you have in the house and what your favorite flavors are. It is a fun to make with the family. And it is the perfect treat for filling up a tin and sharing with a neighbor, or co-workers. Add as many little goodies as you like. And of course, make sure to share it over a good conversation, some laughs, or during the football game.

Pumpkin Spice Munch

Pumpkin Spice Munch is the perfect treat for Fall! Easy to transport, looks great in a bowl, and oh so yummy!

Keyword Muddy Buddies, Puppy Chow, Snacks
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 Cups Rice Chex or Corn Chex We use Rice Chex as they are Gluten Free
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 12 oz Bags White Chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1-2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice Depending on how strong you want the flavor to be.
  • 1 Cup Fall M & M's
  • 1 Cup Brach's Fall Mix or Candy Corns
  • 1/2 Cup Heath Bits O' Brickle Toffee Bits
  • 1/2 Cup Marshmallow Bits

Instructions

  1. In a Microwavable Bowl, Microwave Butter and White Chips for 1 minute. Stir mixture. Continue in 15-second intervals microwaving and stirring until smooth.

  2. Once the mixture is smooth, mix in vanilla until incorporated.

  3. Pour 10 Cups of Rice Chex in a large bowl. Pour microwaved mixture over Rice Chex and carefully stir with a large metal spoon. Scooping down the sides, and folding over to reduce crunching the Chex.

  4. Pour the powdered sugar and Pumpkin Pie Spice into a gallon size ziplock freezer bag. Mix thoroughly.

  5. Scoop the Chex Mix into the gallon bag, and shake the bag around until the Chex are fully coated in powdered sugar.

  6. Pour the mixture into a large bowl, and add the remaining ingredients. Mix gently, and Enjoy!

  7. Store remaining mixture in an airtight container, and out of sight....or it will be gone in a day! 🙁
